Over eleven thousand daily Covid-19 cases in Argentina
Buenos Aires, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Argentina continues fighting the Covid-19, which is affecting 18 of the 24 provinces and has left 11,710 fatalities, with a daily average of more than 11,000 cases for almost three weeks.
The country has experienced progress and setbacks for the last six months, after total and mandatory isolation was decreed, especially in places that quickly managed to recover from the pandemic and saw the reopening of several services.
But far from a reprieve, the battle is not over yet, in the words of President Alberto Fernandez himself.
With localities forced to return to the first phase, the figures throughout the country do not decrease. The Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that there is an average mortality of 257 people per 1 million inhabitants, a 2.1 percent lethality rate over confirmed cases.
A total 9,909 positive cases were registered in the last few hours, a lower figure compared to more than 12,259 positives reported on September 3th, the highest number so far in terms of the number of infections in just 24 hours.
Although the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, which includes the capital and part of the eponymous province, is the most affected by being the one with the highest population density, the situation is also worrying in other provinces such as Jujuy, Rio Negro, Santa Fe and Cordoba, among others.
In total, the number of infected amounts to 565,446, of which 438,883 managed to overcome the virus and 114,853 are currently hospitalized.
