Venezuela's FM highlights Maduro's pacifist vocation
Caracas, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza highlighted on Tuesday that President Nicolas Maduro maintains his willingness to dialogue despite boycott attempts by the extreme far-right and US aggressions.
In an article by the Foreign Minister, published by the Mision Verdad website, he compares the negotiating attitude of the president with that of Commander Hugo Chavez and noted that both leaders, despite the constant coups and attacks against their governments, bet on a peaceful understanding.
'In Venezuela, we have been resisting the different phases of the same plan of aggression for over two decades. The accumulation of failures, rudeness and clumsiness, far from discouraging the imperial forces - it does not matter whether they wear Republican or Democrat suits -, it seems that they violate the arrogant and quarrelsome pride that characterizes them,' points out Arreaza in the text.
The FM stressed that in all that policy of the right wing and of Washington there is the same script and several plots, whose main goal is to try to push the Venezuelan people to the limit through despair and smothering, to produce pain.
The minister reiterated that those actions are implemented in order to create conditions to generate a situation of social disturbance including coups d'état, popular rebellions and sow chaos in the country.
In the faced of that scenario, he assured, we have the certainty of the definitive consolidation of that homeland that Simon Bolivar left us and Chavez rescued, fully sovereign and independent.
'We have a homeland and a people convinced that there is no path to peace, but that, as Mahatma Gandhi taught us, peace is the only possible path,' the diplomat expressed in his article.
