Angola's authorities report 130 new Covid-19 cases
15 de septiembre de 2020, 17:43Luanda, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Angola reported on Tuesday 130 new Covid-19 cases, rising to 2,994 afflicted, most of them asymptomatic.
On the usual press briefing, the Secretary of State for Public Health Franco Mufinda updated that there were eight recoveries from Covid-19 and another three deaths in the last 24 hours, two men aged 61 and 64, respectively, and a woman aged 92, all of Angolan nationality.
The recent diagnoses, the expert detailed, show new infections in five provinces: Benguela, Cuando Cubango, Huambo, Zaire and Luanda, although the majority (114) corresponds to the latter territory, epicenter of the pandemic in Angola.
Among the 2,094 active Covid-19 cases, there is a critically ill patient, in need of invasive mechanical ventilation; 17 under serious health condition, 47 with moderate signs, 60 showing mild symptoms and 1,969 asymptomatic, Dr. Mufinda set out, representative of the multisectoral commission for the prevention and fight against Covid-19.
The country, he synthesized, currently accumulates 3,569 Covid-19 cases, which includes 139 deaths.
