Iranian tanker unloads condensed gas in Venezuela
16 de septiembre de 2020, 14:32Tehran, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) The Iranian ship Honey is unloading condensed gas in the port of Jose, in Venezuela, on Wednesday, in compliance with trade agreements between Tehran and Caracas, it was reported here.
The vessel started to unload some two million barrels of that substance, which is extracted from the South Pars field, in the Persian Gulf.
Iran sent other shipments to Venezuela, but this latter was the first of its kind to arrive in the country as a challenge to threats by the United States to stop trade between the two countries.
In August, the US Government notified the seizure of 1,116 million barrels of Iranian fuel for Venezuela.
Iranian authorities explained that the ships were not Iranian and their cargo and destination was not for Venezuela.
The owners of the ships filed lawsuits at the District Court of Columbia, in the United States, and explained that the cargo was bound for Trinidad and Tobago to be sold to clients in Peru and Colombia.
