Haiti's president once again calls for dialogue
Port-au-Prince, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) Haiti´s President Jovenel Moïse on Wednesday afresh called for talks with several local sectors in an attempt to promote political stability and sustainable development.
At a time when Haiti is wrapped up in a spiral of violence, with multiplication of crimes and social demonstrations that have brought Haiti to a standstill, Jovenel Moïse reiterated his commitment to holding fair, free and democratic elections.
However, some opposition platforms strongly rejected the organization of elections as long as current president continues in the office, who has lost support from multiple sector in past two years.
For parties such as Pettit Dessalines, Fusion of Social Democrats or Fanmi Lavalas, the electoral contest will have predictable outcomes, and they demand the resignation of Moïse and establishment of a transitional government capable of stabilizing the Caribbean nation.
