22 de septiembre de 2020, 9:58Beirut, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) denounced the violation of this country's airspace by Israeli fighter jets and drones, as reported by the Al-Jadeed local television station.
The Israeli aircraft flew over the southern Lebanese towns of Hasbaya, Arqoub, Mount Hermon and the occupied Golan Heights at very low altitudes.
They also over flew the Rashaya, Western Bekaa and Sidon districts, and the central Metn region at a higher altitude.
'UNIFIL has registered a large number of Israeli air violations in recent days,' said the UN Forces Commander, Major General Stefano Del Col.
'It is a violation of Resolution 1701 of the Security Council and of Lebanese sovereignty,' he said.
Del Col revealed that he asked that Israel refrain from continuing those flights through Lebanese airspace.
'Such continuous violations lead to an escalation of tension and can lead to incidents that threaten the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel,' he stressed in statements to the National News Agency.
