Putin urges not to lower guard in the fight against Covid-19
Moscow, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) Russia's President Vladimir Putin urged on Monday not to lower guard in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, during a meeting of the Council of State, a body that brings together ministers and leaders of the Russian regions.
The fight against the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is far from ending, and therefore it is necessary to keep a watch out, the president considered during a meeting with the expanded presidium of the consultative body that acquired greater status after the constitutional reform.
'Risks remain. I call you to recall so and show maximum responsibility for you and for those next to you,' the president noted after at least three governors recently caught the novel coronavirus, one of them admitted to hospital.
'We know how to act in the face of the pandemic and how to arrange prophylactic measures, but now everything depends on each one of us and the result of common efforts in the fight against the transmission of the infection,' the head of State deemed.
'We must avoid a return to the imposition of restrictions that are very damaging to the economy and embarrassing for people, as happened last spring,' Putin pointed out.
The head of the unit in charge of epidemiological watch in Russia, Anna Popova, noted that the peak of Covid-19 cases lately registered was expected, when the figure went from just over 6,000 to 8,135 daily cases in less than 15 days.
