Paraguay is burning

The flames have been spreading for several weeks and have become more intense in the last 24 hours, especially in the central-western department of Presidente Hayes.
This region, whose capital is only 32 kilometers from Asuncion, has 7,682 fires, followed by Caazapá, Alto Paraguay and Itapúa, the report states.
This environmental crisis is worsened by the fact that no rain is forecast for this weekend and the temperature will drop slightly to between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius, which feeds the flames.
The wildfires are already affecting urban areas, including Areguá, Luque, Ayolas, Remansito and Bajo Chaco, along with natural parks in the Eastern Region, while in departments such as Caazapá, indigenous communities are being evacuated.
