Arce rejects false accusations from Bolivia's de facto Government
La Paz, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) The presidential candidate from the Movement towards Socialism (MAS), Luis Arce, on Thursday denied accusations against him from the de facto Government of Bolivia on alleged illegal enrichment.
In a letter to the Bolivian people through his Twitter account, the former minister of Economy during the Government of President Evo Morales said that the accusations are completely false.
The current ruling clique, which took over power after a coup d'état in November 2019, makes 'lies, political persecution, violence and the looting of Bolivia a way of life,' the MAS leader noted.
Arce added, 'I am certain that the dirty war against the MAS will intensify as we approach the elections', scheduled for October 18.
Those who try desperately to stay in power without listening to the popular will, who lack legality and legitimacy to rule, who are afraid of the elections, who know that the people disprove their bad performance are those who resort to lies and political persecution, to violence, to criminalization and repression, the 57-year-old politician stressed.
He warned that he will take the pertinent 'legal actions' against the slanderers, and noted that the accusations are groundless, 'they have no credibility'.
