Russia rejects US manipulated report on human trafficking
Moscow, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Foreign Ministry today rejected a manipulated report prepared by the United States on human trafficking and denounced the use of the concept of modern slavery to attack nations uncomfortable for the northern country.
The use of the referred term is seen as an unjustified criticism against sovereign states, stated the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajarova.
Our country is interested in a global and comprehensive analysis of the problem of human trafficking, said the spokeswoman.
Zakharov emphasized that her nation, in different public spaces, advocates a meaningful dialogue with a balanced position, in which attention is paid to all aspects of this complex phenomenon.
Moreover, it will be necessary to establish direct contacts between the respective law enforcement bodies, migration authorities and border control bodies to prevent the traffic of the so-called living goods, as well as to exchange experiences, she considered.
Together with the high level meeting of experts in the aforementioned aspect, all these actions constitute a fundamental component in the field of international cooperation for the fight against the trafficking of persons.
