Brazil reaches 14 million jobless in the last week of September

In the first week of May, when the first IBGE data were collected, Brazil had 9.8 million jobless people, representing a growth of over four million.
The employed population in the same period fell from 83.9 million to 83 million.
'Although the information on unemployment remains stable in the weekly comparison, it suggests that more people are putting pressure on the labor market, amid the relaxation of social distancing measures and the resumption of economic activities,' assured the research coordinator, Maria Lucia Vieira.
She commented that there were noticeable, although not revealing, differences in Brazilians with a job in the last four weeks.
