Angola reports six new deaths from Covid-19
16 de octubre de 2020, 17:12Luanda, October 16 (Prensa Latina) Angola's government reported on Friday six new deaths from Covid-19, accumulating 7,722 Covid-19 cases, the majority in Luanda province.
As explained by the Secretary of State for Public Health Franco Mufinda, the deaths that occurred in the last 24 hours are from the territories of Huila (3), Luanda (two) and Benguela (one) and include Covid-19 patients who aged from 29 to 75 years old.
On a press briefing, the expert also notified another 126 having tested positive for carrying the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, as well as 84 new recoveries from Covid-19 in Luanda, which is the pandemic's epicenter in the country for both the number of cases and deaths.
Currently, the doctor explained, the country accumulates 7,222 Covid-19 cases including 234 deaths, 3,112 recoveries and 3,976 active cases, among which there are 15 in critical condition and 20 serious.
Dr. Mufinda, also representative of the multisectoral commission to respond to the pandemic highlighted that 3,425 Covid-19 patients are asymptomatic, which is equivalent to more than 86 percent of active cases.
