Philips raises profits due to pandemic needs
Amsterdam, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) The Netherlands technology company Philips reported today the achievement of an attributable net profit of 338 million euros during the third quarter of this year.
The data represents an improvement of 64.9 percent compared to the result recorded by the multinational from July to September 2019.
Philips' sales in the third quarter of 2020 increased 5.9 percent year-on-year to € 4.98 billion, with growth of 35.9 percent.
These figures correspond mainly to the connected care area, focused on hospital ventilators, diagnostic imaging and monitors, whose income reached 1,556 million euros due to sales promoted by pandemic needs for those health accessories.
Meanwhile, the diagnosis and treatment segment reduced sales by 6.9 percent, to 1,971 million.
For its part, Philips' personal health unit had a turnover of 1,376 million euros, 1.3 percent more than in the third quarter of 2019.
