Arce to pay a bond against hunger in the new Bolivia
La Paz, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) The virtual Bolivia´s President-elect Luis Arce, member of the Movement for Socialism (MAS), on Monday reaffirmed his first measure as president will be the payment of a Bond against Hunger.
In an appearance before the media, Arce stressed that he will comply with the bond that the Jeanine Añez temporary management refused to pay, despite a law and regulations to do so.
During the campaign, Luis Arce said this social benefit will amount to Bs 1000 (about US$145) and each citizen will be benefited from it in order to alleviate the crisis and boost domestic demand.
The MAS binomial, Luis Arce and David Choquehuanca as vice president, overwhelmingly won on Sunday´s elections in five of nine departments of the South American country, according to results released by electoral authorities.
The de facto President, Jeanine Áñez, publicly recognized the MAS triumph, and Carlos Mesa (Comunidad Ciudadana party) and second in the votes, has already admitted her defeat at the polls.
Luis Arce affirmed they will build up a government for domestic unity and to continue with the process of change to give to the people what belongs to the people.
