Schools in Northern Cameroon shut down over terrorist assaults
19 de octubre de 2020, 15:3Yaounde, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Educational authorities in Cameroon on Monday announced the closure of about 60 schools in the Northern region of this country due to constant attacks by radical groups.
The highest Representative of Education for the Northern region, Ousmanou Gaga, told local press that manifold teachers and students left the schools for fear of losing their lives as a result of attacks by Boko Haram.
Other sources reported that, given these attacks in border areas with Nigerian state of Borno, over a dozen educational centers were burned down in last 10 months.
He also said that, given the violence setting, a great number of residents left their places of origin.
