Protesters recall popular uprising in Iraq
Baghdad, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Tahrir Square's protesters recalled on Sunday their colleagues who started a massive anti-government movement a year ago that led to the resignation of Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi in Iraq.
Today's march resumed the October 2019 calls for a radical change in the government system implemented in 2003, after the occupation and invasion of a military alliance under the US command.
Concentrated in Baghdad and southern Iraq, the protests of a year ago also advocated an improvement in basic services, employment and an end to corruption.
'We sacrifice our Blood, our Souls for you Iraq,' chanted hundreds of demonstrators.
Other groups of protesters gathered in the southern provinces of Babylon and Basra to condemn the current Executive led by Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
