Mock election begins in Venezuela
Caracas, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) The 381 voting centers authorized for the mock elections in Venezuela opened today in the midst of strict biosecurity measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At least 945 main voting machines, 55 contingency machines, and a thousand devices of the integrated authentication system were deployed for the development of the exercise, which began at 08:00 and will end at 15:00 (local time).
The president of the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, Indira Alfonzo, reported on Friday that 100 percent of the voting centers are ready throughout the country, with all the electoral material and parties, and all technical conditions, logistics and operations are guaranteed with the deployment of the technological infrastructure.
Alfonzo also announced that all assistance personnel are prepared, as well as the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, who will accompany the process.
She stressed that the objective of this process is to test all the technical elements of the automated voting system, carry out tests of results to monitor its behavior, and evaluate the efficiency of the voting centers and the polling stations.
