France goes back to lockdown, schools and workplaces remain open
Paris, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) France went back on Friday to nationwide lockdown to stop the outbreak of Covid-19, but unlike the previous quarantine, schools and workplaces remain open.
Since Friday morning, the ban to leave home for at least one month has been in force throughout the country, except going to schools and workplaces, or to carry out permitted activities, such as do grocery shopping, medical appointment and official calls, helping family members, dog walking routine and participate in physical activity.
When the return to lockdown was announced on Wednesday, President Emmanuel Macron mentioned that citizens require to fill out a form to leave home, a document to print or download on the phone similar to the one they used between March 17 and May 10, when France lived a quarantine during the first wave of infections due to the pandemic.
Macron described in his speech the progress of Covid-19 as surprising, a criterion endorsed once again in the last few hours, when 47,637 new cases were reported in a day, an unprecedented 19.4% rate, and 250 other people died, to total 36,020 deaths so far.
