Rise in Covid-19 cases alarms Lebanon
Beirut, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) Dr. Firass Abiad, director of Rafik Hariri University Hospital, warned on Friday about the rise in Covid-19 infections in Lebanon, which set record cases in three consecutive days.
A recent report from the Ministry of Health shows that some 1,933 people were detected with the novel coronavirus on Thursday.
About 1,809 and 1,855 infections were recorded on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The country totals 77,778 cases and 610 deaths since February 21.
The situation is alarming due that test positivity rate increased, Abiad said.
Until Thursday, some 248 of 288 intensive care unit beds in Lebanon were occupied.
