Mexico's economy grows 12 percent in a trimester
Mexico, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) Mexico's economy grew 12% in the third trimester of this year, compared to the same period in 2019, the National Statistics Institute (INEGI) reported on Friday.
According to the institution, the economic increase corroborates the beginning of an economic recovery after the huge contraction of 17.1% in the second trimester as a result of strict confinement, above all in April and May, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The INEGI explained that the gross domestic product (GDP) grew 22% in industrial activities, 8.6% in services and 7.4% in agriculture in July, August and September.
