Syria, Russia sign agreement on education, humanitarian assistance
Damascus, Nov 12 (Prensa Latina) Syria and Russia signed an agreement on educational matters that includes the construction of educational centers, technical and humanitarian assistance and exchange of delegations, national media outlets highlighted on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Syrian Minister of Education Dr. Abdul-Hakim al-Hammad and Russian Deputy Minister of Education Dmitry Glushko. Both officials detailed the exchange projects between professional centers and postgraduate courses, among other aspects.
Glushko said Russia will collaborate in the construction of other new schools and restore about 5,000 educational centers destroyed by terrorism.
On the other hand, another Russian delegation, led by Sergei Shevchuk, distributed humanitarian assistance and school supplies in a nursery and in the Mar Elias Orthodox Church, in Damascus, operations, he highlighted, have been maintained since 2015.
The two Russian delegations are participating in Damascus in the International Conference on Refugees, which was opened Wednesday and will conclude today at this capital's Conference Center.
