China interested in increasing investments in Angola
Luanda, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) Foreign investments in Angola might grow given China's interest in expanding business in industry, agriculture and fishing, said Ambassador Gong Tao, who was quoted by local media on Thursday.
The issue was addressed during a meeting with Josefina Pitra Diakite, chairwoman of the Parliament's Committee on Foreign Relations, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, the Jornal de Angola newspaper reported.
The materialization of investors' interests would allow creating new jobs in Angola, as well as increasing exports to the Chinese market, whose consumer demand is high, the two sides said.
According to Gong Tao, economic and commercial cooperation in investments will remain strong and will promote the development of friendly relations and strategic partnership with this African country.
In statements to the press, the diplomat praised the ongoing reforms in Angola in order to improve the business environment and ensure conditions for entrepreneurs, the newspaper said.
