Communist parties of Greece, Cuba hold talks
Athens, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) The communist parties of Greece and Cuba on friday congratulated themselves for their historic ties and reviewed current domestic and international issues, including the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and its health and economic consequences.
According to a statement issued by the Cuban Embassy in Greece, the talks were held virtually.
The debates were headed by Lefteris Nikolaou Alavanos, member of the European Parliament for the Greek Communist Party (KKE) and the Department of International Relations; and Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, deputy director of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).
Marsan Aguilera talked about Cuba's efforts to preserve lives, the protocols to fight the pandemic, and the use of advanced domestic science and biotechnology, amid the tightening of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade.
The Cuban party official also listed some measures to continue developing the domestic economy despite difficulties, and the main ongoing tasks in that sector.
