Cuba reports 35 new Covid-19 cases, totaling 7,798
Havana, Nov 21 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported 35 new people with Covid-19, so the total number of patients with the disease amounts to 7,798 on Saturday.
According to information published by the health institution, 356 patients with the virus were admitted into hospitals, 354 of whom are clinically stable, one is seriously ill and one is in a critical health condition.
An 80-year-old patient from Santiago de Cuba province died on Friday due to complications associated with the disease, so the death toll rose to 132.
In addition, 40 patients were discharged from hospitals and went home, where they remain under clinical-epidemiological surveillance at the Primary Care Level.
After these latest medical discharges, Cuba has reported 7,307 people who have recovered from Covid-19.
On Friday, laboratories made 9,593 PCR tests in real-time to detect nationwide, totaling 1,022,379 samples so far.
The new cases are from Pinar del Rio, Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Ciego de Avila, Camagüey, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba. Thirty patients are Cuban citizens and five are foreigners.
Fourteen of the new patients were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of infection has not been confirmed in 21.
Over the last few weeks, Cuba has been going through a new normal stage; however, authorities insist on self-responsibility and compliance with hygene measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
