Chile's authorities report over 20,000 deaths from Covid-19
Santiago de Chile, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) Chilean Ministry of Health's latest press briefing reported on Sunday over 20,000 deaths from Covid-19, adding to that figure the suspected Covid-19 cases.
The study indicates that those detected by positive PCR amount to 15,030 according to the briefing as of Friday, but there are another 5,059 deaths of suspected cases because they were not tested although they had Covid-19 symptoms.
Likewise, until November 19, the contagions recorded in the country since the onset of the pandemic amount to 610,829, of which 537,585 were positive for carrying the SARS-CoV-2, and another 73,244 were likely to carry it but they were not studied by PCR tests, which represents a rate of 3,139 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The Ministry of Health clarified that such rate does not represent the current Covid-19 incidence, nor the number of people still in the stage of generating possible infections.
