Havana, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's minister of the Interior, Vice Admiral Julio Cesar Gandarilla, died of a long-term disease, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to Granma newspaper, his body will be cremated and no military ceremony or public activity will be held at his request.
Vice Admiral Gandarilla held major posts in the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
He was appointed minister of the Interior by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba on January 9, 2017.
He was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and a lawmaker at the National People's Power Assembly (Parliament).
Gandarilla accomplished international missions in Angola and other countries, worked in personal security and is a founder of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution.
