Iranian media publish unknown details about Fidel Castro's visit
Tehran, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) Several Iranian media published on Thursday some details of the visit by Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to this country, and especially his meeting with Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Revolution.
HispanTV cited Khamenei's description when he said that the Cuban citizens' resistance against the US harassment is meritorious.
Jamenei.ir website published for the first time some statements issued by the leader of the Islamic Revolution during a meeting with Fidel Castro, as marking the fourth anniversary of his death, on Wednesday, November 25.
That meeting took place in Tehran on May 9, 2001, the website posted, and reproduced Khamenei's precision that the Cuban resistance to US harassment and domination is meritorious.
Khamenei said that Fidel Castro's visit to Iran opened a new chapter in the ties between Tehran and Havana and 'although we are far away, we can strengthen ties and relations,' the Iranian leader said at that time.
