Cuba beats Turkey at virtual chess tournament
Havana, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Thursday defeated Turkey 4-0 and rose to the 26th position in the Online Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities, which is led by Russia.
During the sixth and penultimate competitive day in the preliminary of the event, Cubans in the World Online Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities won their respective games.
The third victory at the event allowed the Cuban team to add six points and even if it wins tomorrow, it would only reach eight units, which are not enough to advance to the semifinal of the tournament, which is commanded by Russia with 11 points.
The Russians equaled the second team from Poland, which ranks second with 10 points and a better tiebreaker than the teams from Germany, the Philippines (1) and Ukraine (3), all with identical units accumulated.
