Friendship with Cuba is a permanent value, Vietnamese PM says
Hanoi, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc noted on Monday that for his country, friendship with Cuba is a value that time makes it stronger and reaches a very high point when bilateral diplomatic relations turn 60.
Upon receiving Cuban outgoing Ambassador Lianys Torres, Xuan Phuc pointed out that over and over again, bilateral ties have proven their strength and are now in a position to move to a higher stage.
Rather than a farewell, it was a cordial job interview, at which the head of Government expressed Vietnam's willingness to continue supporting Cuba's development plans with more investments and advice to Cuban food production programs.
The interlocutors also spoke about the possibilities of increasing cooperation in technology, telecommunications, oil, tourism, shipbuilding and other areas, and appreciated the support that one side has given the other one in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Torres thanked the Vietnamese government, and the Prime Minister personally, for the country's permanent support, and assured that in any new position assigned to her, she will continue working to strengthen bilateral relations.
The diplomat also congratulated Vietnam for its brilliant work as president of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in 2020 and for its performance as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
