Cuba calls for mobilization against US aggressions
6 de diciembre de 2020, 10:53Havana, Dec 6 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Sunday called for a political and social mobilization on social media to face the escalation of aggressions orchestrated by the United States against the Cuban Revolution.
On his Twitter account, the head of Cuban diplomacy denounced the efforts to destroy social consensus in Cuba 'through lies, misinformation, decontextualization and the hyperbole of our problems.'
In this context, 'the political and social mobilization must also be online,' he added.
Analysts and experts warn that Cuba has been the target of a media war developed mainly on the Internet and the renowned 'soft coup', a mechanism of indirect foreign intervention created by the US Central Intelligence Agency.
Recently the US Department of State announced the project to distribute, before the end of 2020, up to one million dollars to initiatives related to civil, political, religious and labor rights in Cuba.
On Saturday, the foreign minister described the call in Washington to finance subversive activities against Cuba as a 'flagrant aggression and violation of International Law', and said 'it will be faced with the full weight of the law.'
