Arab Parliamentary Union expresses solidarity with Syria

Damascus, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) Syrian media on Thursday highlighted the declaration of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), which condemns Turkey's aggressive actions and water cuts against the population in the northern province of Hasaka.

The Union follows with great concern Turkey's aggressive practices against sister Syria and its people by cutting off drinking water to the citizens of Hasakeh and its surroundings, according to a statement issued by Saqr Ghobash, president of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates and head of the UPA.

The document, published by Syrian media, condemns these events and condemns any act that could damage the country's sovereignty.

The declaration calls on the United Nations, the international community and all peace-loving forces in the world to adopt a clear position on these unacceptable practices, and demands that the Turkish regime respect the rights of its neighbors and immediately stop any interference in Syrian affairs.
