Moscow, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) Russia plans to start next week the massive vaccination against the Covid-19 pandemic for people over 60, once some tests are completed, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko indicated on Sunday.
'Yes, we hope to do that,' Murashko told Channel One Russia, commenting on the possibility of moving to immunization of people over 60 in the upcoming days.
So far, the Sputnik V vaccine, the first to be registered in the world against Covid-19, has been applied to people from 18 to 60 years old. Since November, doctors, teachers, social workers, transportation and energy personnel have been injected with the vaccine in Moscow.
In addition, Sputnik V is now also being applied to officials from the commercial sector, industry, media and services, but all under 60 years old.
Murashko assured he would recommend involving people with diabetes in future vaccinations, even in other Russian regions.
