Bolivia's enterprise confirms new oil and natural gas discovery
La Paz, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) The Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) company confirmed the discovery of 13.7 million oil barrels and 76.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, the media published on Sunday.
The drilling took place in the Yarara-X1 well, in Yapacani, department of Santa Cruz. The Minister of Hydrocarbons, Franklin Molina, described such work as successful, which now allows the country to have an excellent fuel reservoir.
The project is currently in the completion phase, which will allow production to begin with an initial flow of 300 to 400 barrels per day.
The minister noted that this well will also begin to supply the refineries since discoveries such as this one are aimed at guaranteeing the energy security necessary to be less dependent on imports.
Molina unfolded that the State will guarantee the resources for the exploration plan and at the same time, it is working on a plan to develop incentives in residual fields in order to increase production.
The head of the sector advanced that this commitment will be accompanied by some regulations for the development of Bolivian oil incentives, which is very important because it will guarantee the beginning of sovereignty and independence of liquid fuels.
