China: over nine million people vaccinated against Covid-19

China is aimed at vaccinating at least 50 million people before the Lunar New Year, on February 12, and then it will continue to the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases.
According to Li Tao, deputy director of the National Health Security Administration, the cost of vaccine will be covered by the health insurance fund and the fiscal expenditures of local governorates, and not by individuals themselves.
'After the vaccines are approved and available to the people, they will be administered free of charge to the Chinese people, who will be able to be vaccinated on a voluntary and informed basis,' he said.
Regarding the visit of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), Zeng assured that China is ready for they to research the origin of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and its consequent Covid-19.
'Once the WHO scientists complete their proceedings and define their agenda, the Chinese counterparts will go to Wuhan with them to carry out the research,' Zeng said after restating China's willingness to cooperate with WHO on such a matter.
