Japan organizes jewelry fair despite the pandemic

The event has been held in Japan for more than three decades and this year's edition is expected to host 510 exhibitors, according to the organizers.
Its leaders decided to go ahead with the fair after the Japanese Government decided to declare a state of emergency in Tokyo and its surroundings from last Friday until February 7th, which entails restrictions for mass events, among other measures.
The government's guidelines establish an attendance limit of five thousand people at a time for each space hosting such events or 50 percent of its maximum capacity, restrictions that do not impact the IJF, according to its organizers.
Those responsible pointed out that the IJF will be carried out in compliance with the recommendations of the Japanese authorities for the control of contagion with Covid-19.
Among such measures is compulsory for attendees to wear a mask, the measurement of body temperature at the entrance or frequent ventilation of enclosed spaces.
Although every year the center receives thousands of visitors from all over the world, this time it is expected that the entrance of foreign travelers will be restricted by the ban on entry that Japan applies.
