Cuba thanks CARICOM for support in the face of the US policy
Havana, Jan. 14 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Thursday expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity provided by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) after Cuba was included in the US list of State sponsors of terrorism.
On his Twitter account, Bruno Rodriguez also considered 'the Caribbean nations' call for reviewing and immediately reverting this unjustified action.'
CARICOM pointed out that Cuba's international stance does not justify this appointment in any way.
'This new attack on Cuba negatively affects its international stance and its social, human and economic development. It is another wrong action' added to the economic, commercial and financial, unproductive, unnecessary and illegal US blockade against the Caribbean nation, Bruno Rodriguez warned.
Other regional blocs, activists, politicians, institutions and personalities around the world have condemned Cuba's inclusion in that list is due to the intention of imposing greater restrictions on the country.
As part of the international community's rejection of the US Department of State's decision, several specialists recognized such an action is also seeking to impose a new drawback to future bilateral relations under Joe Biden.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry affirmed that the United States further damaged its credibility by reinserting Cuba on a unilateral list without showing any evidence.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry also condemned this US decision.
The South African Communist Party, on the other hand, pointed out it is a smokescreen for tightening US blockade against Cuba, a repeated violation of international law.
