Brazil's cultural association condemns new aggressions against Cuba
Brasilia, Jan 14 (Prensa Latina) The Jose Marti Cultural Association of the Brazilian state of Bahia (northeast) on Thursday joined the international community's rejection of Cuba's inclusion in the unilateral list (drawn by the US) of countries that sponsor terrorism.
'We repudiate this new macabre action by the US government, this insult of including Cuba in the list of terrorist countries and we demand an immediate withdrawal,' the solidarity group noted.
It described as terrorist the US government that is 'cowardly blocking a small and peaceful country, leading its people to immense difficulties, to not have access to basic needs, food and medicine, in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The organization denounced Washington for insisting 'on planting terror in the most perverse and diverse forms, financing mercenaries in Florida, to produce social and cultural instability' on Cuba.
According to the Association, the United States discloses 'lies in the imperialist and counterrevolutionary media to confuse the opinion of the Cuban people.'
It warned that the Trump government, 'the worst of all times, is once again acting in a genocidal manner.'
The Association also asked the President-elect Joe Biden to govern respecting the right of the peoples to choose their destiny: sovereignty, to 'exercise multilateralism, multipolarity because the irrationality, terror and cruelty that characterized the government of his predecessor is not admissible in these new times.
