India, China hold ninth round of border talks
New Delhi, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) India and China are holding on Sunday the ninth round of military talks at the corps commander level in quest of resolving the bilateral border standoff in the eastern Ladakh region.
The talks between the two nuclear powers are taking place in the town of Moldo on the Indian side of the border, Zee News agency reported.
India and China are holding close consultations at diplomatic and military levels after their troops engaged in violent clashes in the eastern Indian territory of Ladakh since May 2020.
The previous round of dialogue took place last November and during this both sides agreed to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and ensure restrained action by the respective troops as well as avoid misunderstandings and miscalculations.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said the two nations agreed to maintain communication through military and diplomatic channels for the sake of peace and tranquility in the border areas.
