Managua, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) The Nicaraguan Anti-imperialist Network of Solidarity with the Peoples denounced the Cuba's recent inclusion by the United States in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, a fact it described as political opportunism.
In a statement issued as a testimony of its denunciation, the Network recalled that the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba by 12 US consecutive governments has already caused losses in excess of 134.499 billion dollars.
With the new sanction imposed, announced by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on January 11, they intend to worsen the food problems and the already serious effects on the healthcare system, which is facing difficulties in the acquisition of medicines, reagents and medical instruments, the document states.
The group, made up of 10 organizations in solidarity with Cuba, also repudiated the campaign against the international medical missions that provide their services in all continents.
The Nicaraguan Anti-imperialist Network of Solidarity with the Peoples 'Augusto C. Sandino' reiterated its support to the candidacy of the Cuban internationalist medical contingent Henry Reeve for the Nobel Peace Prize.
'From the land of Sandino and Ruben Dario we proclaim to the world that we are with you and we will continue until the end, Cuba is our sister nation, regardless of the consequences,' concludes the statement of principles.
