Vietnam: 145 days with no deaths from Covid-19
26 de enero de 2021, 6:52Hanoi, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam has been 145 days without reporting any death from Covid-19 and discharged 14 patients, bringing the recovery rate to 92%.
One year after the outbreak of the coronavirus, its death toll remains at 35 since September 3, thus resulting in 0.4 deaths per million people, the world´s lowest death rate among those countries with over 80 million inhabitants.
According to the commission in charge of containing the pandemic, the number of Covid-19 patients jumped to 1,549 as another imported positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus was detected, a national recently repatriated from Indonesia.
All Indonesia´s services are working as usual, the cultural, sporting and social events that were suspended were re-scheduled, and the only sign of the new coronavirus´ presence is the mandatory use of face masks in public places and public transportation.
At the same time, research is progressing on four domestically-manufactured vaccines, two of which are already being tested in humans with satisfactory outcomes.
