Cuban experts prioritize epidemiology and primary healthcare
26 de enero de 2021, 16:18Havana, Jan 26 (Prensa Latina) Strengthening epidemiology and primary healthcare in the face of Covid-19 are fundamental objectives of the work of Cuba's Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) in 2021, according to a communiqué issued on Tuesday by the entity.
The press release also states that maximum attention and follow-up will be given to hygiene, epidemiology and microbiology activities, along with the surveillance system, for the control of the current pandemic and other communicable diseases.
According to the MINSAP's report, this will guarantee the stability of the country's epidemiological situation in the current international context.
In addition, the national healthcare system will also work on improving the indicators of the health condition of the population, as well as on increasing the quality and satisfaction with the services they provide.
'It is a political will, specifically in the health sector, to incorporate into the substantive processes the vertiginous breakthrough of science, technology, information and communications, as well as their generalization, for a better control and development of the services provided,' the communiqué refers.
It is also foreseen to guarantee the availability and assurance of medicines, medical technologies and pharmaceutical services, which guarantee the functioning of the healthcare system; as well as the consolidation of the Natural and Traditional Medicine Program.
