Mexico receives first 200,000 doses of Chinese Coronavac vaccine

The health official said that the Mexican government purchased a total of 10 million doses from Sinovac pharmaceutical company to vaccinate five million people under a double-dose scheme.
He said that another 800,000 doses will arrive in the country on Feb.28, that is, a total of 1 million doses in February. Three million doses of Sinovac will arrive in March, April and May.
Lopez-Gatell also revealed that on Monday, Feb.22, the country will receive 200,000 doses of Sputnik V from Moscow, a vaccine developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
The undersecretary said that 400,000 doses of both vaccines will be administered to senior citizens in a municipality of Mexico City and a municipality of the State of Mexico, which are highly marginalized and densely populated, where the pandemic has had the greatest impact.

Mexico, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) Mexico received on Saturday a shipment of 200,000 doses of the Chinese Covid-19 Coronavac vaccine, and another shipment with the same amount of doses but of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will arrive on Monday.
Coronavac is manufactured by Sinovac Life Sciences Co., Ltd, Undersecretary of Health Prevention and Promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, informed.
