Territories under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) remain in a state of emergency, allowing the implementation and monitoring of strict preventive measures, including blockades of communities, villages and cities with a complex epidemiological panorama.
In an urgent request for help, the head of the sector, Mai Alkaila, on Tuesday sought support from the United Nations (UN) to accelerate the supply of anti-Covid-19 vaccines to these districts, Wafa news agency reported.
The expert explained that the ANP has managed to obtain them through different sources.
In the previous days, a shipment of Sputnik V bulbs, a formulation developed by Russia, arrived in the Gaza Strip.
Leaders of that Arab town denounced that Israel left hundreds of Palestinian families homeless in the middle of the pandemic, as a result of arbitrary demolitions to pave the way for its expansionist plans.
The Prime Minister of the PNA, Mohamed Shtayyeh, requested the support of the UN in order to put in place protection mechanisms for Bedouin and other settlers of the West Bank, victims of what he called a wave of terror perpetrated by Israeli settlers with the complicity of the occupying forces.
He is equally concerned about the situation in the blockaded and bombed Gaza Strip, with its fragile health infrastructure, high rates of poverty and unemployment, where some two million people live.
