UN Population Fund donates thermometers to Cuban schools
Havana, Feb 23 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) donated on Tuesday to the Ministry of Education (MINED) of Cuba a thousand infrared thermometers to be used in schools.
The contribution supports the country's efforts to guarantee the safe return and permanence in schools in the face of the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19.
The devices will be distributed to complete coverage in kindergartens.
They will also be distributed to boarding schools with enrollment of over 100 students and to external schools with more than 200 students.
The UN agency's office here also donated materials for a joint educational campaign with the Ministry of Education aimed at promoting integral health. The campaign is focused on the school population and teaching staff, and includes communicative products in printed format, and others that will be shared on social networks and traditional media.
The UN Population Fund and the MINED maintain collaboration for over three decades, UNFPA highlighted in a press release.
