According to local authorities, more than 70,000 elderly and health, public service and transportation workers made reservations to inoculate between this Friday and next March 11th.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and members of her cabinet were inoculated earlier in the week.
The Secretary of Civil Service, Patrick Nip, assured that none presented adverse reactions and urged all officials to get vaccinated, as this would allow advancing in the goal of achieving immunity.
Apart from this product, Hong Kong has agreements to buy the vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech (United States-Germany) and AstraZeneca's (United Kingdom).
The government promised to apply them for free to its 7.5 million inhabitants in an effort to curb Covid-19 after months of continuous outbreaks with many indigenous infections and deaths on a daily basis.
