According to a report by NBC, the congressmen insisted along with Pittman on the need to increase security measures, including keeping the National Guard deployed.
Pittman acknowledged during her appearance the inability of the police to face the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.
Lawmakers from both parties alleged during the session that Capitol security forces were trying harder to protect their jobs than to explain how to better respond to a similar attack in the future.
According to The Hill newspaper, the audience highlighted many of the same deficiencies that were revealed in a similar session of the Senate on Tuesday, where the former chief of the Capitol Police and the former sergeant at arms of the House of Representatives could not even agree on whether or not help was requested from the National Guard.
