Abuja, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) The girls who were kidnapped recently from a public secondary school in Jangebe, in the northwestern state of Zamfara, in Nigeria, were released and are in the palace of the emir of Anka, local media reported on Sunday.
Sources from the Palace assured that the girls will return to the state capital, Guasau, the Punch newspaper noted.
Previously, a reliable source had said that on Saturday, negotiations with the bandits who kidnapped the school girls had been successful, and it noted on Sunday that the students might be in the state capital of Zamfara.
The girls kidnapped on Friday were taken to a forest, and according to reports, the kidnappers were disguised as security personnel to commit the crime.
