At the ALBA-TCP Social Council meeting held last January, member countries agreed to create a humanitarian fund to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The regional bloc determined to focus efforts on the establishment of a vaccine, drug and medical supply bank under principles of fair exchange, complementarity, integration and solidarity.
Likewise, the bloc agreed to guarantee funding mechanisms and resource allocation to roll out plans and projects related to the pandemic situation.
The Social Council also agreed to advance the universal and comprehensive coverage of care services for Covid-19 cases, through the strengthening and rehabilitation of the ALBA-TCP member countries´ hospital capacities.

Caracas, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) Dominica received on Wednesday the first batch of 20,000 vaccine doses, given health agreements of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA- TCP) with the Caribbean nation.
The arrival of vaccines to Dominica was made possible through the activation of the air shuttle organized by ALBA´s Bank and Venezuelan state-run Airline Conviasa, ALBA-TCP informed on Twitter.
