Exhibition in Russia will celebrate Gagarin's friendship with Cuba
Moscow, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba announced the opening in April of a photographic exhibition devoted to the relationship between cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and Cuba, as reported on the Europa for Cuba channel.
In the first edition of the program, the president of the Society, Alexei Lavrov, reported that this will be a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the first flight of man to space, on April 11th, 1961.
He noted that the exhibition will tour nearly 30 Russian cities and will include more than 40 unique images that address the Soviet cosmonaut's friendship with Cuba.
He said that in coordination with the Russian Space Agency (RosCosmos), they will also celebrate on July 26th of this year Gagarin's first visit to Cuba.
Lavrov recalled that the cosmonaut, along with Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, participated in the constitutive meeting of the Soviet Society of Friendship with Cuba, on November 11th, 1964, and was its president for three and a half years.
