Venezuela plans Covid-19 immunization by using Cuban vaccine
Caracas, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela is currently planning to include Cuba´s Abdala vaccine in the country's vaccination campaign in July for mass immunization, President Nicolás Maduro reported today.
During a public speech, the Venezuelan president reiterated that the South American nation will only accept the use of vaccines checked by local scientific and health authorities, an action aimed at guaranteeing the health of its people.
Venezuela will receive 60,000 Abdala and Soberana 02 vaccine doses in April, with a view to participating in phase-3 of their respective clinical trials.
Maduro also stressed that Venezuela is today moving on the immunization of prioritized social sectors by using the Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines.
He also pointed out that coming vaccination phase will include people with pre-existing diseases and health conditions that make them more vulnerable to Covid-19, as well as those people over 60 years.
